I would prefer if the number of links increase gradually so that it would appear natural to search engines. 3 way link exchange is definitely better than 2 way as this type of link exchange can help improve the search engine rankings of all 3 sites. However search engines bots are smarter nowadays as they can also easily detect even 3 way links. | | | | | |
