Default I got a problem can you help???

Hi I am currently working on a website and just yesterday I found out by looking at 3 other computers testing what my website looks like I found out that when other computers have different display settings they get my webpage to look messy.

Like my background image repeats even thought I have css that tells it to not repeat.

I was woundering if there is a way around this???

could I make a javascript to grab the users browser info and also the users display settings and then write a script to change the height and width of my images and texts or positions so It could adjust my pages to the users display settings.

I asked this on other fourms but they told me to use liquid design and use % not px which I did and ya it did adjust to the users browser but stuff gets either overlapped or gives a noticable gap.
