1. Format is important for multiple ad units

2. Display your ad units where repeat users will notice them
A leaderboard at the very top fits nicely next to the logo, but forum regulars tend to skip the header and go straight to the meat of the thread. Placing your ad unit above or below the first post can be more effective.

This provides users who make it to the end of a thread with a ‘next step’ when the content ends. If you place it after the footer, though, folks will move to the next thread before they even see the ad!

When it says CPM stands for "

Does that mean you only get paid per every 1000 views?

Great tips Miconb..........it may really help to most of people using adsense to make money online but can you tell me how to be away from getting penalised adsense account from google.....as I have seen an adsense account can be disabled anytime without showing any reason from google......

To me I always believe that having adsense unit to blend in together with your web post is the best. I don't know why, but I track my earnings using Adsense channel, it's confirmed that my hypothesis is true. I don't know bout others but that works for me.
