Rep Power: 62 | | Re: Google and EUR? If it did replace USD with EUR, it would just change the amount you earn to whatever the conversion rate was then. As an example, it would change $10.00 to about €6.40. So if you're getting $0.20 per adsense click at the moment, they'd just change it to about €0.13 per click. I really don't see them just giving away loads of free money, lol. |

but for user in outside country,
yesterday $10 equal to $33 in our country,
but today $10 equal to $31 in out country.
If it change to Euro,
yesterday €6.40 equal to $33 in our country,
but today €6.40 will equal to $35 in our country.
The main reason to this is USD rate is getting lower and lower,
Euro is higher and higher.

Rep Power: 45 | | Re: Google and EUR? I don't think that's going to happen at the moment. Despite the USD devaluation, it still remains the worldwide currency even for oil purchases and mostly probably the trend will still continue for some time but do not know for how long. I believe Euro is going to replace USD someday.
However, if the world market decides to switch to Euro, that will never happen if you receive payment from Google which is a US company. Unless of course it's not US companies and especially Europe
Another reason why Google will not consider paying in Euro even if you put aside the US company issue, is because by doing that Google has to incur exchange rate loss. So why in the first place must they incur loss to pay something to you To view links or images in this forum your post count must be 1 or greater. You currently have 0 posts. |

Rep Power: 62 | | Re: Google and EUR? Actually Zenneth, they wouldn't have to incur any exchange rate losses. You have to remember that if they choose to change to the Euro, they'll also charge their advertisers in Euro. It means that advertisers in the US would now have to pay the exchange fee, so they could pay in Euro, and European advertisers wouldn't need to pay a transaction fee anymore. Also, the loss of exchanging to USD for American publishers, that would be the publishers loss, as Google would still send out the payment through USD.
Finally, Google has branches all over the world, so it's not just an American company anymore. Hell, the European headquarters is here in Ireland, it's about 20 minutes from my house. |

Rep Power: 141 | | Re: Google and EUR? Sorry, i dont think this will happen. Google will only stick on USD based on some reason.
1. Google is US company
2. Google will lose more if exchange the USD to other currency then only pay for the member
3. Unstable exchange rate will affect the cost estimation
The major point is they can not see any benefit to pay with other curency, but only trouble

On the question on whether Google will start using Euro? That is definitely out of the question. On whether they might incur losses, I believe they will if they decide to expose the risk on currency conversion. Well, why would I want to say that? Because as a US company, in the end, eventually most of the earning will be converted back to USD and it doesn't matter whether advertisers or publishers are being paid in Euro. |

Rep Power: 26 | | Re: Google and EUR? not just Google..
for many of those online earning, i think also should change to EUR.
As USD rate is falling everyday, I dun think earning will be much in the future.
And online earning is dealing with international member, so trading in USD is a bit less benefit. |

Rep Power: 62 | | Re: Google and EUR? Zenneth, what are you talking about a "newspaper cutout". I study business (and I'm top of my class in it), and due to the current financial setting, switching to the Euro would be beneficial for Google. That being said, they probably won't want to change their system, because if (and that's a big if) the dollar recovers, Google would be in a much stronger position. |
