Investor's Business Daily - Applications rose 2.4% in the week ended Sept. 14, the 3rd straight gain, the Mortgage Bankers Association said. Applications to refinance rose 4.6% as borrowers sought to prevent rate resets from boosting their monthly payments. Home purchase applications rose 0.9%. Fixed 30-year mortgage rates rose 4 basis points to 6.29%. The 1-year adjustable rate rose to 6.39% from 6.34%.
