In your country, along with your studies/Employment, learning the other country languages, do you think is the good for the future..?

For example, In india, the people like students, the Engineers to learn the Chinesh Language, Korea Language, Taiwan Language, Japanies Language or German Language in addition to their studies/employment, is very good for their future know..

because I know one of my neibour who is working in a company as a Production Engineer, he has studied the German Language by paying Rs.5000/- p.m. weekly 3 classes, each class around 1 hour.

After one year, he got an offer from Germany, out of 8500 people only 3 people got selected for that post, our neibour is one of those Three, this is due to he learn the German Language..

So, according to me, learning the other country language is the additional recognition, and additional qualification and also an added advantages, when you have got the offer on those countries.

What is your opinion about this topic of the discussion..?? Post your comments..

It's definitely good, no doubts! I personally just like it, it brings me a lot of pleasure ( I may seem strange

) And of course it's useful and also makes foreigners feel pleasant when you know or try to speak their language)) But I think it's better to study languages when you are a student (at school or university), at least to start, then you don't need to pay extra money and can continue learning yourself when you already have some knowledge.

You do have more advantage if you do know more languages. If let me choose, then of course i will first go to those major langauges, which mean the language are using by the highest population such as english, chinese, spanish, arabic....

with the ongoing globalization, i think learning another language is really a necessity. i speak fluent english but i still want to learn niponggo (japanese language), spanish, cantonese, and mandarin for employment purposes. i also like to learn german and french but only as a hobby.
i've not keen on attending classes to learn these languages. i've already got books and audio tapes for me to study so i can learn the basic phrases and words. i do plan to practice what i've learn by engaging in actual conversations with friends of mine who speak the particular language. that's quite a stretch but defintiely more exciting than sitting in a classroom.

yes, a good think to exercise another language (oral) is to speak with people online... example in games team chat with your clan

well, i started studying nipponggo and it's really quite hard. it is harder thatn what i expected. anyway, i'm gettign soem help from my japanese friends so hopefully, i can speak nipponggo in no time at all.
