I recently visited a friend and was surprised to hear that she had given her 8 year old son a mobile phone. Then she told me that he only has it when he goes out on his own to play at the park that is around the corner and down the street a bit. She can contact him whenever she likes and he too can call her if he has a change of plan and go to his friends. My eldest son is 7 but giving him a mobile phone right now, or even in January when he turns 8, is the furthest thing from my mind.


At what age do you think is ok to give your child a mobile phone?

When did you first give your child a mobile phone and for what reasons did you have for giving them it?

I think 20 or 20 will be the correct age to give mobile.Bcoz they will enough knowledge about the mobile..But in this modern world my hope will not be considered.

Me too got mine at the age of 20.But i will give to my child at the age of 18.I think this is the perfect time.

Isn't it too high? I got mine when I was 12 I think.. And i wasn't the first in class who got a mobile. I think it depends on a child, he/she may be serious and responsible enough to have a mobile phone before he turns 18...

when i did my schooling i was totally unaware of the mobiles and totally ignorant in using the mobile.. during my college days, at the age of 20 i recieved my first mobile.. with this i can say that i will give my child at is 20 age, but at the same time, if i feel much earlier then i will give by 15 or 16th age itself

As i think over 18... because that time they are almost grow up and know what the acctually mobile phone for. They got enough knowledge about the mobile phone

i have a young daughter and at an early age she knows how to use a mobile phone. she knows how to make and receive calls and she knows how to take pictures with it. lol! however, i don't think i'll be giving her a modbile phone just yet. maybe when she's responsible enough, i'll get her one. as for now, she can always borrow my phone.
