I read somewhere that the reason why they choose google.com is the repetition makes it easy to remember for all users. There are two G, three O in google.com.
Therefore, if you want to choose your domain name, please also consider this idea.

really? are you sure it is the reason they choose google as domain ? if yes, I think they might can choose 123456 as their domain name if no. domain name is allowed,but it is only a joke, I am not sure what is the real resaon.

I am not sure the reason, I don't think google is easy to remember, I think if they can choose oo as the domain, it is easier to remember ,do you think so.
only the one who choose the domain can answer the question.

I'm sure, like many of us when choosing a domain name, was chosen because it was brandable, not trademarked and the domain was availalbe.

at first when google was created everyone use to say that the name doesn't look GOOD..or its NOT commonly used word for any professional company.
but this is the biggest asset of the company,as they want to b different from others.
thats how google gained popularity

yeah i really don't like the sound of google at first. it does not really sound professional. but i got used to it. and really surprised that they are the best now. i think it is really the service quality than the name that makes the difference.

I dunno I always liked the name google....not very sites at the time had such a name that you couldn't forget easily.

yeah that is really true. that we can't really easily forget that name. it really sound strange at first. and even now it really sounds strange. i wonder if people or many people really like its sound.
