I have created account on blogger and applied for adsense using it. Is it ok? Can anyone guide me regarding this? I want to know how can I put adsense on blogs?

The only downpart for me is that I couldn't find out how to use a channel for the ads from my blogger blog....

Maybe while waiting for your adsense account to be approved, meanwhile you can do a lot of promotions to drive more traffic to your site. I think you can. There's no problem with driving REAL ORGANIC traffic to your site. The problem comes when you try to get fake traffic to act as ads impressions and lower your CTR rate. .
I agree with you that you can promote it on forum, email or instant massager , one of my friends also done this .
He promote it in forums and he also promote it in his signature, he is a member in many forum, so he get a lot of traffice form his signature.
