for me, i think both layout and content must has good quality. such as nice color layout. coz some ppl they are so daring to have a red background and text in white. wow, i sure won't be visit that blog anymore.

other than color issue, the layout arrangement must be good as well. and if possible, try not to have so much ads on it coz it might delay the loading time of the user. and users tends to switch browse others rather than waiting for your blog to load completely.

we can't talk crap in our blog unless we purposely want to do so. good contents will definitely give us some thoughts to ponder about or agree with it, bad contents might even create rumours or misunderstanding or misleading us in some ways.

my conclusion, both layout and contents are very important for a blogger and its readers.

Of course eveything is important, even single word is important. However, the question is "how important". Well, i always will vote for the content in the first blog, even i will say layout is another main factor.

If you can write a very great article and it help people a lot, i still can said that even your layout is suck, people will still go to see it. Honestly speaking, is very hard to write such article at least you are very good.

On the other hand, let's say you have a first class layout wihtout content, visitor will only visit your site once, then they will leave because of the content

Yeah I agree its all about the look of the layout. Its 90% of a great blog imo.

Your layout won't get you any traffic but it may help you get people to re-visit your blog. If they like your content and the site is well presented they will think more highly of the blog and be more likely to return.

^^ Yep as said above .. Content is important to get the traffic flowing first of all .. but without good laypuit that traffic wont re-visit.

Blog layout is one of the most important factor to consider when you setup a blog. Yes it's true that a good content is a plus factor, but you need to have something more appealing to indulge your visitors to read your blog, and I believe that is to have a good blog layout

Layout is important. Easy navigation helps too. After all that had been said, there are blogs that has a minimalistic look to it and yet it stands out. Like lots of white background with just the header, content is important as brought out by all bloggers here. Personally for my taste, I like blogs that have more colours. Blending and soothing to the eyes type. Not contrast and bizzare colours for sure. All colours have different shades too. Even the pink, actually. Some pink shades do go well with other colours. It all depends again on the layout.

i think content should be good, but it will also have to go with a nice layout. peole are rather visual, or at least i am. if the blog doesn't look interesting, i don't bother reading.

no matter how great is your content, but if you place ads / source of your earnings on non-viewable (like bottom of the page), how can people notice that ads?
so that's important to have nice layout, and placing ads to the right place
