Rep Power: 90 | | Re: Is really blogging better than a diary? Most people write diary for their private thing,
like high school student will write name of someone he/she love at their diary,
wife will write something she don't want her husband to know at her diary,
so they just want to write it down so that they can read it while they forgot it,
but they don't want to share with everyone,
that's their private.
Blog is in different ways,
most people write blog to share their special experience,
like journey to Machu Picchu,
ways to earn online,
most happy experience in their life,
they want everyone to read their blog and share with everyone.

Rep Power: 42 | | Re: Is really blogging better than a diary? There's a stark difference between having a blog and a diary. A diary contains a more intimate and personal experiences which you might not want to share with others while blog is basically the opposite. Depends on how you interpret it. |

Rep Power: 0 | | Re: Is really blogging better than a diary? Well for me diary is somewhat personal and should be kept between the diary and you. but blogging is something you want to share with everybody. It is not too personal and sometimes it is more of sharing what your ideas are with the world per se. So if you're motive is to share your idea bloggin is ideal but if you want privacy then diary is what you need.

Rep Power: 32 | | Re: Is really blogging better than a diary? I was reading about this topic from a well known blogger. Topic about how the personal diary has evolved through blogging. I think blogs had started as a personal online diary. There were folks writing about what their interests were day to day, shared even photos of themselves and school and friends. There are still very personal blogs out there but those of "questionable" topics like ***, and other stuff, the blogger has chosen to remain anonymous which is wise. There are students writing about their school life, employees writing about their work life, so these blogs are still rather personal. However, the trend is when bloggers know that they can make money with blogs, many has made their blogs more business-like or commercialize them with ads. I guess in the end, it depends on what your goals are. I wouldn't say blogging is better or worse than writing in a personal diary, they are just different as the others mentioned here.
