Importance of BlogsBlogs provide search engine optimization (SEO) power by their very design. The blog strength lies in keyword rich content and in the abundance of inbound links.
Most, if not all bloggers enjoy feedback from readers. My question is "do you make it a practice to comment at blogs?" Obviously we don't always have something to say, but many people also advocate that commenting brings visitors to your own blogs as well. So what do you think?

It actually isnt necessary ...Comments depend on your interest ...For example you come across a blog which is about cricket but your interest is in basketball but yet you spend a bit of time in cricketting blog just to know a bit ..... But u dont comment ...So commenting doesnt always mean u get good traffic

For me, the answer is yes. If you make comment o other blog, you not only able to get some traffic but also some PR juice, why not we just leave the comment after read the article? Of course, i mean comment is related to the article, but not spamming

Hmmm ya i forgot to mention it that the more comments you see for a topic the reader assumes that the topic is worth while reading ...Because it is a matter of impression if you find more and more comments ...!

That is what I thought as well. You get "something" right, like PR stuff. And others can visit your blog if they like your comment.

You can observe from the posts here that the general mentality goes like this .. "if we like the blog we will comment" or " if the blog is to our interest we will comment" So by this it is clear that apart from our interest we donot go for commenting so in such cases we come across a blog which is not much interest but gained a lot of popularity even then we might not comment ....!

I understand what you are saying. Even those popular blogs may not always have many comments on every post for sure. I am just interested to know if we get some visitors or PR stuff like lifeplayer said earlier. If so, it might actually encourage "me" to comment more on other people's blogs. I am not one to comment every time I read something..I only comment when I feel I need to express my opinion on the subject..I also do not read a lot of blogs, i find it boring..i only read when i get paid to do it and then it is usually a stipulation of theirs that I need to comment to get paid..so i do comment on them..
