Hi
Could be that this is too basic a question for me to expect to have answered here so might have to get back to the books but...
For background - I'm learning the ropes as far as web design goes - only moved away from tables about 2 - 3 months ago in favour of divs as a way to structure the sites.
I am trying to build a suite of sites aimed at acheiving high rankings for specific keywords. All content will be unique and useful for the user, but there are certain area's that will be the same across all sites and that will require regular updates - mainly seasonal/monthly offers we have on and the relevent disclaimer info, showroom address/opening hours (we operate through concessions which chop and change a lot) and news sections. This information is being held within various include files that most pages on all the sites will use in order to make the regular updates easier.
Often, the Divs that contain these includes are situated mid page with other Divs below, so I am restricted as to the size of the info I can use in the include... too much and the Div will expand and cover part of the Div below, too little and unsightly white space is left. Is there a way to make the Divs below react to the size of the Div above it, so that if I update and include a few more lines of text in the include file, the div's below it will move down to ensure they are not overlapping?
Even if anyone can point me in the right direction it would be appreciated?
Apologies if this is not very clear... it's still quite early and we are out of coffee!
