You can link to those sites or forums that are already visits by the two SEs (yahoo and msn)

And try to links with them example if you search for SEO forum that has been crawled by Yahoo and MSN you can go that forum and add you links to that through signature links and surely your site will be visited soon...

Indeed, google shows the least no. of backlinks as it is so strict in terms of relevancy and shows only high quality most relevant links as backlinks of a site unlike yahoo that shows maximum no. of backlinks for a site no matter it is relevant to the site or not.

well its relatively easier to get top rank on yahoo but not that easy on google.I used tnx.net and it showed the yahoo backlinks only for reference ,google algorithm is quite complex in terms on inbound outbound and quality link etc .Anyways getting top rank on yahoo isnt bad deal at all you can get US quality traffic for that.

According to me there are lots of competitior at google but very less at yahoo. Plus both of them follows different algorithms so there is a possibility to get different results in both the search engines for same site.

This is a clear example of how different the search engines are. This things happen all the time. It's always this way. The only thing left to do is accept it and move on... try to change the way of getting backlinks if you want to get recognized by google.

Google takes about 10x longer to notice these backlinks, which could be the reason why :P
Otherwsie, they could be on sites that Google doesn't index, or sites that aren't counted as "good" by Google, but maybe Yahoo loves them
I have a similar problem, i have 10k Yahoo backlinks, and only about 1500 Google ones
