Would want to suggest three options.
1)Down load the Google toolbar.Once That is done you have the PR bar to.A small arrow pointing downwards is there.That Arrow once clicked gives you three options.a)for backlinks b)for the cached snapshot c) for related pages.

2)You could Go to google and search for your backlinks using the term link:www.website.com.

3)As for tools I would Suggest zippy.

You can always see your google backlinks if you go to google webmaster tools...

If you dont want to download google tool bar the type simply "link:your-site-name" in google search you will get backlinks

Well.....google knows about most of your links that you can see at webmaster tools but these all links are not considered as backlink by google and google shows most relevant and high quality links as backlink for your site through link operator(link:yourdomain.com), that is generally updated every after 2-3 months.
