Well you can register you site to google and make a good name somewere. But if you planning to do a TV ad or advertising in banners all over the web then the pagerank can maybe by low but still the website can by visited very well if you put much effort into promotion.

The high PR site might have less traffic then low PR site. And if you are trying to get only traffic in short term, then what yu say is right, focus on thse high alexa ranking site. However, if you looking forward to lng term traffic, PR is important also

Page Rank has absolutely no relationship with the actual rankings of your website. It is better to concentrate on your actual SERPS rather than PAGE RANK which has no impact on your rankings or your traffic

PR do not related to the traffic but only backlink. And SERP is important as well to bring the visitor from search engine. However, with the low PR, you website will be considered as "not important" and hard to get big advertiser

well for me, pagerank is very important because i want to monetize my blog. when i had pagerank, i had a lot of paid blogging opps. when i lost it, then the opps became very scarce. it was a really sad time for me.

Yes,if you are go for the paid to blog, then both the PR and alexa ranking is important for you to get more and better offer from the advertiser.

My wallpapers site is coming first on Google search results for some keywords, but it has 0 PR! Though it is also getting nice amount of traffic from Google image search

exactly... i am more on to traffic too, than page rank... coz the more traffic you have the more chance of converting it to sales.. or something that you can make money of it.

yes.page rank is always important. It will allow google to crawl frequently. But there are site with zero pagerank but getting good number of visitors.Can anyone tell how is that possible
