Default Visual Basic.Net

Anyone here can discuss to me the difference of Visual Basic.Net from Visual Basic 6? Is two totally different or just an upgrade version. Let say, I have known the use of VB.6, is this will be an advantage on using Visual Basic.Net?

The main difference is that there are lots of classes in vb.net and vb.net is an object oriented one.

Hi,

Visual Basic .NET is so much different from Visual Basic 6.

Visual Basic .NET depends upon Microsoft .NET Framework which is a unified development library of classes shared between all Visual Studio Languages (VB, C#, J#, C++) and other languages from third party companies as well.

Visual Basic .NET is true Object Oriented Language but VB6 is not.

Having knowledge about VB6 will help you a bit in VB.NET but there are so much new stuff to learn in .NET.

Vb.Net is a cool language and far better from VB6 with a lot of components and controls. It is far easy to code in Visual Studio. I am afraid after a few years VB6 will be obsolete.

Visual Basic.Net is a fully object oriented with inheritance including language which makes it completely differs from Visual Basic 6.
