Default Lost Google Placement After Site Migration

Hi there!

I migrated the site nelsonbc.ca for my client. The client made the mistake of changing the DNS to point to the new server before I actually migrated the site, so the site was down for approx. 48 hours.

Prior to the migration, a google search for "nelson bc" landed the site in the #1 spot. After the migration, it's not even in the top 40. Is this entirely or mostly due to the fact that the site was down for 2 days or could it also be due in significant part to the fact that the site has a new IP address? I doubt the latter but wanted to check.

In any case, is there any way of regaining the placement?

Thanks,

Shiraz
