I know some webmasters held contests on their websites to get more visitors to visit them and make it more attractive. The contest can be anything like having the participant to solve a puzzle, guess the numbers or just about anything. Do you do that and what is the success rate of driving visitors to your site? How's the increased traffic like?

I know about a contest for a free .com domain name for the first 10 in the rankings of a christmas game. The site had like over 500 users that played a lot and I had to visit the site for 20~40 times in a week in order to get a high score... I don't remember who won, but there were google ads on the site, so I guess its a good move to make contest. Traffc+Revenue.

Yeah, I think that's how they managed to get so many visitors to their site. When you have contests running offering high reward price, everybody will be so excited about it and become obsessed about winning. It's definitely a good strategy to get huge traffic.

Every day I get more and more encouraged to try this kind of promotion for my blog. To bad I have a very low traffic. Do you any other successful "contest strategy"?

I know about another cool move one guy made for his forum. The first user to get to 1000 posts on his forum, got a tshirt, the first user to get to 2000 post got a.... don't remember, but the thing is, he got pretty nice traffic to his forum. And he had 2 banners @ 50$/month each, so I don't see a problem buying a tshirt in the first month :P.

Yeah, I once came across a site whereby the guy offers a simple contest whereby you have to sign up to a program using his affiliate link. Once you are done, the contest runs whereby the winner is decided by the highest number of money make by each person who signup. Well the winner for the prize is only $100 and I wonder how much net profit he actually makes from his downline.
