If you notice the most successful websites update the posts almost everyday sometimes even up to the extent of 2 times in a day. I believe this is the best thing to do and getting good contents are very important. I only manage to find time to update once every two weeks so I think this can be improved further. The more content database your have, the better.
Some people update 3 times a day but not more than that. 3 articles/posts per day is enough. Less than one article per week isn't a good move because users check most of the sites at least 2 times a week. If they come and see that you don't have a new article, they leave forever.
Yes the good impression to give your visitors is that your site must always have fresh content to offer. That's why getting it updated regularly is very important. I always have problems dealing with this issue on updating due to time constraint and day job commitment.
Yeah, sometimes it is hard especially when you have to crack your head and come up with something. Once you have the title, you have to go about searching for the contents and details to fill in. A lot of effort and time needed to keep the site going.
