I think if your domain is popular as a keyword, it might be helpful to you SEO, but if it is meaningless, you could not get any efftive to your SEO,don't blame me if I am wrong, only share my opinins.

SOmetimes domains with same keywords do well with seo.But its not a must that the domain should contain the same keyword the site is using.

if your domain is the keyword, I think it is good to SEO to choose the good domain,but if your domain is not the keyword, I think it might be no effect to SEO.

Domain name has an effect on SEO (SERPS) because if you have a domain name with a popular search term you will get it up to google first page really quick

Domain age has a great impact on SEO.. Google usually get into it...

That's why stable and old domains are sometimes on rank 1 even they are not optimized..
