Well del.icio.us helps because first of all you get a backlink from them and secondly you get backlinks from people who quotes things from them

i dont know weather delicious is such helpfull as digg, but i had a website that gone from 0 PR to 5 PR after lots of people digged it (around 3k people)

I would disagree with that, because it helps with SEO, because if people are quoting your artcle on their websites you get backlinks, that means you get some PR juice, the bigger PR the better SEO
