hello everyone, just a bit curious. Are you aware that alexa has changed its algorithms in ranking blogs?? I have noticed that updates are not as frequent as before. Actually, since the last upgrade, I guess it was last week or so, rankings haven't changed anymore..

Any of you who knows what formula alexa uses to determine our ranks??

I not sure about alexa rank details. I only know that alexa ranking is only collect the data from the user who did install the alexa tool bar.

yes, that's what I know too. I have read that they've improved their algorithms.. the previous formula can be easily gamed, but I haven't heard a lot from the new computations of our ranks... I hope anyone shares it here..

True, Alexa rankings are only affected by users who visit the site with active Alexa toolbars. That's why Alexa rankings aren't always very accurate.

It appears that ALEXA is not incorporating more than just their toolbar stats in their rankings. However the algorythym is secret at this point.

There is lots of speculation that Alexa must be pulling stats from somewhere else but for now no one knows.

May I know how frequent does Alexa update the rank? From what I hear nobody really pays attention to Alexa these days so not sure how is that going to help

Until nobody really understands how the algo works. But I don't see difference except maybe they don't update that often anymore.

Alexa rankings used to update every few days, but now it seems they only update every 2-3 weeks. It's a bit annoying, especially considering some webmasters use their Alexa rank to gain advertising etc.
