Rep Power: 403 | | Which Would Rank Better? Hello All,
Have a quick question to run by all you pro's out there.
Background:
I have a site that ranks very well in google, yahoo etc. It has great page rank.
We are creating a new site as a sub domain.
(Example: newsite.oldsite.com)
One of the people on my team has proposed that instead of creating a top level sub domain, we actually piggyback on another sub domain.
(Example: establighedsubdomain.oldsite.com/folder/folder/newsite/index.asp So, the big question is:
Considering that the 2nd option puts the new site a number of folder layers down, would we see any difference in organic search rankings between the two options.
Option 1: newsite.oldsite.com
Option 2: establighedsubdomain.oldsite.com/folder/folder/newsite/index.asp
Thanks in advance for all of your help and advice!
