I think it is not a fixed process and if some one need his/her site on the top then there should be a constant effort and process . So it is a restless process .

As soon as its indexed, i keep an eye on the visitors and keep editing page contents and meta tags e.t.c as required.

In the start it should be observed daily and then should be a week and then you should give it some delay . There should be consecutive checks and maintenance to keep the site up .

Yes that is a nice piece of information and i think this is the best way to keep your site up .

It is a continuous process and if some one is interested in keeping a site up then he / she should follow some persistent practice of monitoring .

I think the time period for the results to show up really varies. There's no specific time line to say. If the SEO has been correctly carried out, results should show up in no time. What you should be more concern on is to continuously optimize your site. Don't wait for results to show up before going on to next action plan.
