The people are obsessed about PR. They want to linkexchange to sites with PR. If your page has PR it means it has quality links but it doesn't mean it rank high in SERPs.. People are looking for quality links...

Google has finally crawled for page rank on the 25th night and I did benefit to a great extent.My pr for a couple of websites did increase .One had a pr of 3 which increased to 4 and one which didn't have a pr moved over to 2.Google had to do this as it faced severe criticism from all possible places about not crawling efficiently this particular year for PR updates compared to last year.So people who launched their websites this year or sometimes earlier are set to benefit as the next crawl will possibly be for backlinks followed by a combo crawl for PR and backlinks.Here is the link that explains all.

The second week of January witnessed the first crawl by Google for updating the PR and backlink.On the 13th of the month Google again put up a crawl for PR and backlinks.The last time Google updated the PR and backlinks was on the last week of October which was after a gap of six months.But this time the gap was only for three months.And to be more precise am not sure what the crawl was mainly for PR???backlinks??or both??Well the reason it seems Google has changed it method of crawling.Earlier whenever there was a crawl for PR and backlinks only those links would be highlighted that added the PR value to the already existing PR of the website.What I could analys from three of my websites after the latest crawl was that all links present for the website would be cached by the spiders.The pr for one of my website did increase and so did it's PR but the backlinks for the other couple of websites that I work upon increased from 49 to a whopping 265!!! and from 11 to 170....respectively.Various inputs are terming this crawl to be partial.Check this out.

Seo covers all aspects of page ranking. Google usually crawls after 4 to 6 months.I think well optimizesd website can change its ranking in this time.

Actually people are very conscious about their page rank why because when you are selling your website, the price is somehow determined by PR as well. To me, it's not a major concern and as long as you get good traffic to your site and good conversion rate, that's fine.
