why focus on alexa ranking? focus on SERPs ranking 'coz alexa ranking is just approximate computation of visits per month... and it is said that it can be manipulated.... Just focus more on SERPs if you achieve high SERPs alexa ranking also will be affected...

Yeah, when you focus on SERP specially optimized for google, the traffic will automatically flow in and thus improve on your Alexa ranking. Contents are always important to make your site have better SERP

I know two "shady" techniques to increase your alexa rank, artificially. The first one is to use pictures or banners (on social networks like myspace etc) and link them to your redirected Alexa URL. The other one consists of putting your site up to sale on a webmaster forums. This will be specially effective if your site looks like a good deal.

I have to agree on this one. I rather have a good serp that a high Alexa Ranks. Well, Alexa ranks only plays important role to those commercial site or to those who are after link trades.
