on Friday, the search engine announced the creation of "Knol," a project that allows users to create their own Wikipedia-like pages on specific subjects. The big difference: users put their names--and Google's advertisements--on their knol pages and split the revenue with the search company.

Hmmm.. sounds interesting. Do you know when is the specific launch date. I can't wait to try this out. I think sites like this has a lot of potential to grab attention of surfers. Myself is of course one of them.

This knol stuff was around since Sep 2007. It is supposed to kill the blogosphere and transform the way people blog and share information forever. There is a humor about it from many months and till now no activity is been seen regarding it. This will be new subjective and bring about a new revolution on the internet and all the bloggers will be affected by it. So, let us see what will happen in the coming years lot more new and business will change on the internet.

That's good to hear that. It's very nice to hear different views about the new upcoming feature. I hope they will release it soon. heh, Knol is a good idea, but it could kill one of the greatest things that ever happened to the internet, Wikipedia. well this is really good that we can make our own personal wikipedia and get to earn some money from revenue sharing. i will going to try that hopefully i will earn on this one.

What's to stop somebody from just stealing the page from Wikipedia and posting it on this Knol thing?
