It is not the number of links that matter but is the quality that make the difference. You might have 1000 links but if all of them have no PR and are not related to your niche, they won’t contribute towards SEO. Get few good links and make sure they are of quality – which is high PR and are related to your niche

That is a fruitless effort so be careful not to waste your precious time. Have a few links but they should have some worth.
