I spent some time submitting my sites to directories but so far I would say it hasn't paid off. I find I am better off trying to get backlinks in other ways. Has anyone had different experience? If so why were you successfull in using directories to build backlinks?

Now I am trying to find directories to submit link, doesn't it OK? I could found some seo site which only has just a page to put link, I don't think that's OK. But I would try directory first.

No only see the PR of the homepage of the directories, but also see the PR of the page which your link will be.

so there are different kind of directories. so not really all are really good for our blog and for our pr. what are those good directories anyway. is this not against the rules of adsense. to submit to those paid directories.

I never go for paid directories, it is more dangerous since i'm not sure that google will panalty on this kind of paid directories

well, as per my experience with the directories..both free as well as paid..they have served their purpose..It is always better to submit your site to those directories that have higher page rank..this ensures your site's PR to be significant with each update..I have got many back links through them..so, for me they have proved worth my money and time..
