I found PHP with MySql the most compatible pair to manage a forum or a website . These are free tools also and have a proper interaction with 99 % of servers world wide . What are your favorites ?

I have the same feeling for forums but i think MySql is not free now and if some one need to set up a forum then he will have to purchase a license for MySql .

I have noticed that almost all forums are in PHP and MySql but i shall like to move towards ASP . ASP is my favorite tool for development .

I am in favor of using open source technologies so i shall not spend money regarding this because there are lot of choices available .
